The Problem

Zero System, Compliance Deadline Approaching

A small services business with no system at all - everything manual. With the LHDN e-invoice mandate approaching, they needed a solution fast. But they were not ready for (and did not need) a full ERP. They needed the minimum viable system: compliant invoicing that they could start using immediately.

Original Workflow

Our Approach

Odoo Cloud - Free Tier, One Module

We introduced Odoo Cloud with only the Invoicing module enabled. Odoo's free tier (single module) meant zero licensing cost. The goal was surgical: get them e-invoice compliant in two weeks without disrupting anything else. We also introduced the Accounting module as an option, but they preferred handling that themselves for now.

Caveats & Considerations

Client was not ready for full ERP - and that is fine
Accounting module was shown but intentionally left as optional (they prefer doing it themselves)
Training had to be minimal - team had never used business software
We made clear: if they ever need more, we are still here to help expand

The Solution

Odoo Invoicing Module (Free Tier) + E-Invoice Compliance

A lightweight implementation: Odoo Cloud with the Invoicing module, configured for LHDN e-invoice compliance. The client can create, send, and submit compliant invoices from a single interface. No unnecessary complexity. If they outgrow it, additional modules (accounting, CRM, inventory) can be activated without migration.
